[Terrapreta] Methane issues

one item not on the list of methane sources is plowed farm fields. plowing
under green matter can cause a spike in methane production as microbes in
soil break down organic matter and cell protoplasm. this spike heightens
when ther soil is compacted and wet, reducing aeration of sub-surface soil
layers.

a more natural source is swamps, bogs and other stagnant water bodies loaded
with rotting organic matter in anaerobic conditions. swamp gas? or was
that a UFO?
