Thanks to Tom for good advice, to invite people to the TP list.

Also for reminding list members about the many people on the list with
squeeky hit and miss dial up service providers.

Thanks to Lou for his input and 'yes' to the idea of networking
farmers/gardeners/growers. It would be nice if more of the third world is
enabled to be included.

There are a lot of people there depending on what they can extract from
soil. Enabling them to make that sustainable would be very beneficial for
all of the world. It will be difficult to find enough food to send them more
frequently as land is deteriorating and population increasing.

Thanks to Andrew for the advice to set the e-mail client to only accept the
first 64 k from the list. Unfortunately I don't know how to do that and I
also don't want to miss the possibly useful information among the multitude
of repetitions.

'How to do it' is a down to earth question and most pertinent. Carbon
credits mean nothing to the third world as there is hardly any bureaucratic
institution to administer that bag. I am sure the bureaucrats would like to
receive funding to learn about it and then control the procedures. The guy
on the ground will probably end up losing something in the process. But if
they see positive results from applying biochar + whatever else needs to go
with it, they will consider putting in the extra effort. Especially with
imported food prices going up and local crop yields going down. GHG is not
in their vocabulary, neither is CO2.

The first ever alternative energy exhibition ever in this country took place
last week. The only local source exhibited and promoted was Jatropha Curcas.
Yours truly was involved.

Warm regards to all of you,

Bakary Jatta,

Bwiam village,

The Gambia
