The point I was trying to make was that only a fraction of Hg is  volatilized 
and needs to be scrubbed up stream of the ammonia scrubber. The rest  falls 
out the bottom with the  uranium and thorium and the Radon gas  goes up the 
flue unaffected.
 
The Powdered activated charcoal (PAC) is used up stream of the ammonia  
scrub, and is NOT used as a soil amendment. So no heavy metals are sequestered.
