Dear All,
I remember reading an article about fungus and bacteria based soil. As I
recall, forest soil was fungus based and field soil was bacteria based.
If one converted a forest plot to a field plot the field plants did poorly but
in time the soil would be converted into a bacteria based soil and the plants
would perform normally.
Of course it was visa versa for planting trees on field soil.
Just a side note,
Jeff
