Well, the punctuation mark is a dot and not a comma... the dot is much 
more likely to elicit a favourable reaction than is a comma or 1 
thousands separator. Many people not having your background would assume 
that 29 corn cobs saves 42 gallons of oil.

Quite a neat trick.
