Jeff,
You need 300 tons of charcoal for worms. Or, a way to make 300 tons of charcoal.

This summer I tilled a 30 acre field and planted it to switchgrass. While I
was working this field I DID NOT SEE ONE WORM. (now don't anybody ask if I
had a mirror!!!!)
When I was a youngster I always found worms in the soil when it was plowed.
For 50 years this field was always worked hard and it never had any time to
rest, just add fertilizers and plant the same thing year after year.
Jeff
