I'm working on reading 1491 now. Since I had just read about TP soils
before I picked up the book I was fascinated by the authors
description of climbing large hills in an ancient South American site
which were composed largely of broken pottery.
I haven't had time to get too far into the book, but I made a point to
keep an eye out for anything related to soil engineering :)
