Considering that biochar is an option for sequestering carbon and not
just improving soil, some relevant questions would be:
How much char can be added per season without adversely impacting the land?
What is the maximum amount of char that can be added without adversely
affecting sustained agricultural use of the land?
The idea is that if you dump 10,000 t/a, you probably won't get much
corn out of it next year. Somewhere between 5 and 10,000 t/a there is
a point where productivity starts to go down. About where is that
point?
Also, it may be that if you can put on up to X t/a without hurting
productivity, you can do that again after some period of time, up to
some maximum concentration.
