8. I haven't had time to get into this - but we on "Terrapreta" can help
Hansen by adding more substantiation on how much can be done. Hansen is a
cautious author - so I suspect the above may be on the low side. He is not
mentioning growth of bacteria and fungus , nor the added above-ground biomass that
must occur. Also no mention of agricultural NOx reduction. Anyone have
alternative numbers? And the costs to do this?

Also no mention of other direct effects;

10X N2O Reductions, Methane reductions, or water savings,

and in-direct effects;

Water shed pollution abatement ,

With a proper total accounting, of all co-benefits, I'll bet that every ton
of Char/Carbon sequestered is truly worth at least two tons, but that is
sheer speculation, each soil type will be different. I have no idea of the
baseline volume of N2O soil emissions of the average agricultural acre.

" help Hansen - who I now view as likely to be our most effective spokesperso
n."

I sent several posts to Hansen over the last two years, and an old high
school friend who does ocean rise work at EPA. He , like Hansen has during this
administration had restrictions placed on direct contact with the media.

Great to see that Hansen is talking up Biochar now!
