[Terrapreta] Measuring plant health, when testing TP

One thing I have noticed, is a tendency, to measure plant health ( and to some extent productivity ), by how much plant mass there is, or by how much it has grown in comparison to the control.

Since plant sugars is closely tied to health, is anyone using refractometer and Brix numbers to use as a less ambiguous form of measuring plant health?
