It seem like we undervalue Biochar in climate change markets. If 1 ton of
Biochar is equal to 3.4 tons of CO2 then today it is worth $15.30 ($4.50 x
3.4 ton CO2/ton c) on the Chicago Climate Exchange or EUR 72. 86/tonne (EUR
21.43 x 3.4 tonne CO2/tonne C) in Europe. But can we also sell the future
value, say 30 years, of other Biochar benefits such as more efficient use
of fertilizer, reduced soil loss, increased productivity, reduced risk
(loss) from drought?
