Sean, I logged on to Amazon.ca but the publication isn't listed there. I
suspect that distribution is limited to the US for royalty reasons?

Sorry Kevin Amazon.com is too STUPID and USA-Centric to realise that not
everyone has USA post codes

The state and ZIP Code you provided do not match. Please use the full name
of the state or the official two-letter abbreviation (please don't use
periods in the abbreviation--for example, use NY, not N.Y.).

ZIP:

Please enter a valid ZIP or postal code.

best of luck
anyone in the USA want to try?
Michael

Dear Michael

I tried to order this publication, but got the message from Amazon:

Can you order it from Au? If so, would you consider ordering it, and sending
me a Bill?

I'll pay you directly for it... send me your snail mail address, and I'll
send you a Money Order/cheque or something equivalent to $4.95 in $US that
is cashable in Au.

Best wishes,

Kevin

Description:
The survey presented here describes the bacterial diversity and community
structures of a pristine forest soil and an anthropogenic terra preta from
the Western Amazon forest using molecular methods to identify the
predominant phylogenetic groups.
Bacterial community similarities and species diversity in the two soils were
compared using oligonucleotide fingerprint grouping of 16S rRNA gene
sequences for 1500 clones (OFRG) and by DNA sequencing.
The results showed that both soils had similar bacterial community
compositions over a range of phylogenetic distances, among which
Acidobacteria were predominant, but that terra preta supported approximately
25% greater species richness.
The survey provides the first detailed analysis of the composition and
structure of bacterial communities from terra preta anthrosols using
noncultured-based molecular methods.
