Old "traditional" stove, semi-open with no chimney Plancha Stove: Promoted and built by Prolena in Honduras. Observe the draft control at the chimney and also a round metal door, on the left side of the stove, that is used to remove dirt from the chimney. This stove costs about $25 US. Observe the darkness of the ceiling, this is due to the use of a stove with out a chimney before the improved stove was installed.

A Plancha Stove decorated by the owner. Plancha Stove: Body built of bricks and covered with mud. "Plancha" means the flat metal sheet that is uused as the burner. It is 1/8 of an inch (3mm) thick.
