[Terrapreta] Global Warming Is Not Settled Science

Hi David,

Thanks for pointing out that the Nobel prize earning scientists on the IPCC have made predictions that were conservatively inaccurate. You are absolutely right and it should make anyone reviewing this story think twice about doubting its validity.

You sure would have thought some Conservatives would have been jumping up and down, screaming "see, see, see, we told you dummies!", if when they recounted the 2000 vote, it showed that Bush had been winning by a landslide the whole time, huh? And that is not what the IPCC scientists are doing. Their predictions were always absolutely in the right direction. The compelling new evidence makes one wonder why they are not now more alarmist about it. But, then alarm scares Conservatives. It means change is coming and they can't do anything to stop it. They might have to go along with some changes they don't like. It rubs way to hard against conserving the status quo, to accept such a change, methinks.

Regards,

SKB

if you want to make you own judgments about climate change and global heating, or if you want to recite the opinions of the true climate experts, i suggest you start with the fieldwork, data and reports of IPCCC. they were appointed as our best assembly of worldwide experts to investigate, study and offer experts scientific analysis and opinions. these are the best of the best who are designing and doing the critical homework to examine the physical data and interpret the implications and consequences. their work just got recognized with a nobel prize, in partnership with al gore.

then, after you understand the case made by these best of the best, then consider that the data is pouring in to indicate that their professional and computer predictions have proven to be inaccurate -- that climate change and global heating and thawing, is happening faster than expected.

then, if you want to believe those who have more opinion than data, go ahead. but start from the top and work your way down.

i saw sufficient data by 1990 to convince me the planet's thermal engine -- the ocean currents in particular -- was shifting into overload mode.

It is people who are important. Here is a link I just found that confirms to me that global warming, though very popular, is not yet settled science.
