Brian,

I like it...prairies and the phoenix of fire...

In classical literature, the burning phoenix is the symbol of  
renewal, of regeneration.   Fire is nature's simplest and most final  
method of making way for the new, for breaking down all those complex  
organic compounds to their basic constituent minerals and gases and  
starting afresh.  And ironically, through that very process of  
destruction, it creates the char that enables it to expand the  
dynamics of the biosphere a little deeper into the earth's crust.
