Hi Michael,

I think it works. Its maybe kind of expensive. It might not have the absolute best qualities, but it is charcoal and it is available. I am 1 month out on being able to produce baggable quantities of charcoal with my pyrolysis reactor. I think I can sell this for $10-$20 US + shipping, per 50 lb bag. I should be able to make it to any specified temperature. I expect to start with oak wood chips, but I hope to try many different kinds of feedstock. I will be getting "proximate" analysis done on daily batches. The reactor should be able to make 2 to 4 tons per day.

Regards,

SKB

Here is a simple question that should kick off a good round of discussion.
Lacking any other source of charcoal is there any reason why smashed up
brigettes ( say Kingsford) from a store should not be used?

The primarly application is in small raised beds and potted herbs mostly.

  Sincerely yours,
