I learned this week that Dr. Ablevor at Virginia Tech has received his
delayed Dept Of Environmental Quality (DEQ) air quality permits,( they had no
category other than "Incinerator", I contacted DEQ's air guy and sent him info
from EPRIDA) and so can now ship the fluidic bed reactor from Colorado to
Virginia.

Still no date for the demonstration when I spoke with him last month. He did
say that he has done much work on improvements to the condenser train for
the Bio-oils, which is ready to go.

I will keep you updated.

Folke,

Thank you for an excellent description. Since 1990 there has been work in
Japan on charring sewage sludge which so far has not turned up toxic
concentrations of pollutants such as heavy metals in the low temperature char.
We see the same mechanisms of Phosphorous concentration in the concentrated
animal feed operations, or CAFOS. We developed a method of burning poultry
litter to recover phosphorous-rich ash for feed and potassium-rich ash for
fertilizer. Charring litter may make more sense. So far we have seen no results
from the much advertized poultry litter pyrolysis projects in Virginia and
elsewhere.
