Yes and no.


Adding it to the digester directly might inoculate it with the wrong microorganisms.

Allowing some of the effluent, to aerate for a couple of days before adding char would probably do the trick.

  Does anyone have experience of biogas digesters such as commonly used in India and China?  Would running biochar through a digester be a good way to "charge" it before land application?
