Can't answer your question.
However to add to the previous article on large livestock and
charcoal, here's the abstract of a recent research article on adding
charcoal to chicken feed. It was found to significantly increase
feed conversion ratios in broilers.

Whether or not biochar could be used in this application, might well
depend on its VOM. Too much might prove toxic? But a high quality
char could well be beneficial to livestock feeding.
