Yes, it does seem counter-intuitive that such small percentages of CO2 and
Methane as a fraction of the volume of atmosphere might cause such big
problems. Indeed, this is one of the main talking points of GW skeptics. But
there is an excellent and fairly definitive response from the experts about
this particular red herring. It has to do with the special behavior of these
gases in the atmosphere and, yes, very small percentages can and do create
big problems.

But why get diverted into arguments over GW? We really don't need fancy
science to establish that the earth has been terribly damaged and badly
needs healing and restoration. If we can reduce GHGs (from solar flares or
human disruption) and heal the earth through TP technologies, it would be a
great boon for all beings with no losers. Imagine that.
