I agree we don't have enough oil to put on soil. but in away we are doing
that with fertilisers, chemicals, diesel for the tractor, etc. Our whole
society is built around the stuff.

I didn't see that article on bio-oils and soil. It was a thought that came
to me at the IAI conference.
 I agree you would predict that only minute amounts would be needed. But it
would be interesting to see some research on it.

I think most of the research has been on isolating microorganisms to mop up
oil spills rather than oil as a "fertiliser"
perhaps there may be possibilities of using "waste," 'used' oil (Is there
anymore) as a soil amendment
