[Terrapreta] Australian Carbon Credits

A friend is heavily involved in this.
Some may find it of interest..
They are interested in Tera preta but as yet know little of it

They have purchased remaining clearing permits from Qld farmers, retaining
the carbon for 120 years.  Rio Tinto Aluminium purchased most of the carbon
credits.  One of the landholders has just received a cheque for $1 million.
Basically they have saved about 10,000 hectares from the bulldozer. The
website will explain.

Now they are developing and building other projects ie the NSW Greenhouse
Gas Abatement Scheme initiated by the Carr gov't.  Currently seeking
registration/certification to trade under the scheme.

  Also looking to overseas markets (working within) as without Australia
ratifying Kyoto Protocol, we are limited on utilizing Cleaner Development
Mechanisms with countries like China, India and Indonesia etc
